The Center for Evaluation and Development, as a non-profit charity organization registered under German and Swiss law, accepts donations and issues donation receipts. Institutional and individual donors may designate a specific purpose for their donation, or leave it us to decide where we think it is most needed. For more information please contact froelich[at]c4ed.org.

The current zeitgeist of philanthropic commitment, “Change, not charity” or “help that works”, focuses on the impact of projects. Therefore, not only is the effective implementation of projects relevant, the evaluation of the work is also of importance and should be considered an integral part of each project. The focus on impact enables us to address the question of what changes have occurred and can be attributed to projects.

Foundations, social entrepreneurs, and sustainably oriented investment funds want to achieve real impact that goes beyond a purely monetary return. Impact investing and impact measurement are therefore key topics. But how can effect be measured scientifically? How can impact measurement be linked to investment decisions? How can foundations and philanthropists be scientifically and operationally supported in making their investments effective and efficient? What assistance would be useful and effective at the same time?

Designing strategies to tackle socioeconomic phenomena as complex as poverty is neither straightforward nor does it rely on blanket solutions. Rigorous and objective evaluations are needed to find out which development programs work, how, where and for whom. This is what C4ED provides to the development community.

We believe that by joining forces, lasting solutions to end poverty can be found. Interested in supporting us in this endeavor? Get in touch to obtain details about avenues for collaboration or to support the Center in further building its capacities. Every change starts with you.
